Race Officer: Peter Robinson Assistant RO: Bruce Edgar Results Officers: Pam & Gary Jones The day started with the wind blowing from a North Easterly direction. It was A rig conditions for the first 2 races, however the wind quickly changed so it was soon C rig! C rig continued after lunch. The course was set reasonably close in which gave all skippers good visibility and all could clearly read the buoy numbers. The layout was a midway start line, a top mark and an offset mark, then a bottom mark and offset mark. This course worked well for the 14 skippers who took part. A course was also set for the DF95 sailors. This was set closer to The Good Home end of the lake. During the afternoon the wind speed registered at 40 km per hour. This really tested the boats, equipment, and sailors alike. There were some failures of gear and a few rescues were required. The general comment at the end of racing was that it had been a great challenge and very enjoyable. Many thanks go out to Bruce, Pam & Gary for the great team work. Peter Robinson.
They had fun getting their yachts round the course with A rigs in C rig conditions. All are resolved to get a B and a C rig for Christmas 🎅
