PRSC Sunday Sailing Report – 18 April 2021
10:30 the entire lake was mirror flat. 11:00 and Gareth and Dan had a course out and we were racing in the nicely filled in easterly. Well done team.
We trialled turning the loudspeaker volume down and placing it closer in with the skippers, together in good sight of the start line. It seemed to work for the seven IOM skippers and three DF 95 skippers. This was to pay respect to the club’s first formal complaint from a Pegasus resident – anonymously through the Waimakariri District Council. Paul is working with the Council to resolve the complaint in as positive a manner as possible.
Rick CB volunteered to move the buoys after Race 2 to accommodate the swing to a light south east. Gareth and Dan got three more races in before lunch.

Two skippers arrived, and two left at lunchtime. Splitting the day’s sailing into Morning and Afternoon sessions means the results reflect everyone’s performance in a completed series of races, without showing a whole heap of DNS scores because the skipper could not attend.

And, the standard of racing was close – Gareth commented how rapid fire he had to be calling numbers to Dan across the line. The DF 95s especially were often neck and neck after two laps.
At different times of the day, we enjoyed the company of five new people interested in radio racing. We gave them ringside seats to view the racing, on our white chairs.
