Sunday Sailing Report – Split Start Series 18 July 2021
Another pleasant PRSC day on Race Area B with a South West breeze. Paul laid the marks and Jeremy led the racing with Gary Jones recording the results. Jeremy kept us in fine order throughout the day with a well timed break for lunch and 13 races all told. The shifts and variable breeze opened passing lanes for everyone in each fleet so that racing was once again absorbing and of high quality.
Well done Graham P and Darryl for first places overall.
Great to meet our newest member Kelvin UpJohn with his DF 95.
Ric P made use of being a dual owner by switching to his DF 95 when his IOM needed TLC back in his garage.
All agreed that the most improved skipper award would go to NZL 21 skippered by John N.
In Race 9 NZL 03 crossed the start line accurately for once and was just ahead round the first mark when the transmitter started beeping persistently. Every other IOM closed in ready to pounce if Skylar went into tight circles. In fact Skylar made it round the entire course without being passed, and got to shore in time for the boat batteries to be switched off. Yay Futaba 🙂 Note to self… check battery levels before the day!
